A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.

This is the story of Mr. Tushar Kansal, Founder and CEO of Kansaltancy Ventures, an investment management and advisory firm that helps businesses with Equity fundraising, Fundraising for VC Funds, Debt, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Tushar is an accomplished professional with experience spanning multiple sectors from Venture Capital (Brand Cap), Big 4 Consulting (Deloitte & Touche), LSE-listed Sistema’s India unit (MTS India) to CFO of Guggenheim Partners-owned company (DLI).

He is a Venture Advisor with Loyal VC, the INSEAD-led Canadian VC Fund, having a core portfolio of over 160 investments in more than 35 countries. He is also a Partner with GSD Venture Studios, a Silicon Valley-based venture builder.

Early Journey as an Entrepreneur

Tushar got campus placement from Engineering College at Indo Rama Synthetics, a big poly-staple fiber manufacturing company at Nagpur. But he soon realized the crux of the matter that he wanted to be either in IT or Finance. So he burnt the midnight oil to pursue an MBA, and he got into the University of Delhi in(MBA) Financial Management.

Roles and responsibilities…

Tushar had handled responsibilities at Deloitte & Touche, Times of India’s Brand Capital, Sistema’s MTS India, and as CFO of a Guggenheim-owned company DLI. For the last decade, he has been in a leadership role, driving business with large companies and entrepreneurs.

Post his MBA; he co-founded an Education company called KITES which trained high school students in IIT entrance examinations. The company grew to 800 students and 3 centers in North Delhi, and he got a perfect exit when he sold it to Narayana Institute in 2006.

Start a hare

“Startup” and “investing” have become buzzwords in his times. There is so much mystery around them that the new-age entrepreneur is afraid of risk-taking. In his words, “I have brought my 20+ years of experience with world-class companies, multi-varied experience in Finance, and relationships with 3500+ Startups, 600+ Global investors, Investment Banks, and alike, to play and created Kansaltancy Ventures and Saffron First.”

Hurdles of an entrepreneur career

Entrepreneurship is not taught in our schools. The school focuses on technical aspects, geography, the sciences, and arts and commerce. Still, it ignores the critical aspects of entrepreneurship: money planning, financial planning, accounting, human relationships, working in teams, being the leader, and being a manager.

All these aspects are very sadly ignored in our educational ecosystem.

Tushar says – “The journey for an entrepreneur becomes very steep. Our educational ecosystem is yet to get equipped to make students take up entrepreneurship and instill in them the necessary skills and experience to take these challenges head-on.”

Journey as an Author

Tushar started writing in 2013. When India had slid down on so much across economic and social indicators, he felt like writing. Then he started writing his blog “Indus Churning.” It was on his website tusharkansal.com.

He wrote 59 articles, and it became such a huge hit that it had 2.6 million views, and CNN News 18 spotted the blog and started calling him to their shows to discuss various issues.

What Tushar Wants You To Know

“If any human being finds a full expression of who he is, he will always find success. If you compare yourself to somebody in a completely different area or arena of activity and put the numbers together, those numbers may be bigger – that’s not the point. In your area of life, finding full expression is a success.

Most people think it is their job, family, life situations, taxes, and unpaid bills that are causing stress. But essentially, stress is your inability to manage your own system – your body, mind, emotions, and energy.”

This is the breathtaking journey of an aspirant turned leading entrepreneur, Tushar Kansal. Like his story, his words never fail to inspire people.

There are no wrong turns in your passion pursuit. Begin your journey today and conquer what you deserve. Period.
